<p>The bounding rect is necessary for autoscaling and can be used for a couple of painting optimizations.</p>
<p>qwtBoundingRect(...) offers slow implementations iterating over the samples. For large sets it is recommended to implement something faster f.e. by caching the bounding rect. </p>
